This is a seminar that will be of interest to scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs. The general public is invited.

Abstract: Nanotechnology comprises a range of technologies related to materials and devices in small dimensions. It is of great relevance for many applications, ranging from e.g., energy, health and water-purification, to information technologies, sensing & security, and basic science experiments.

In my presentation I will provide a basic overview on nanotechnology, illustrated with examples from research done at the University of Twente and the resulting creation of spin off companies, and will reflect on its possible relevance in the context of Rwanda/Africa.
